Meet the Chief CHOOK

Steve Hansen commenced his business career in banking, working with the Commonwealth Bank for 13 years. This period was followed by Steve working in Papua New Guinea for 4 years, doing pioneering work in the field of mobile banking. Following this, Steve worked in a mining company as a financial controller for 3 years.

Steve first became involved in fast food management in 1983, as a franchisee of Chicken World.

In 1991, with 5 successful stores, Steve became the founder of the 'River Rooster' franchise system. Steve has been the Managing Director of the 'River Rooster' franchise system, which subsequently became the 'CHOOKS fresh & tasty' franchise system, since its inception in 1991.

Steve is an active and passionate advocate of franchising in Australia, and since 1996 has been a committee member of the WA Chapter of the Franchise Council of Australia. Steve is the immediate past President of the WA Chapter of the Franchise Council of Australia, 2003 - 2008.
